My daughters socks don’t match, and I think it’s great.
I am a step mom of two, and I also have two of my own so yeah I have four kids. One girl and three boys. And she is the oldest out of the bunch. It’s not as bad as it sounds I promise. But anyways back to the point at had.

My daughter is awesome. She is mine in every way, except by blood. She rocks she at that stage in her young life where everything has to be about questions and logic. Yeah its annoying at time, like when you and extremely tired and she wants to know why the sky is blue and not purple (yes we have had that discussion)

Her dad and I have a lot of tattoos, I mean a lot. And I myself am a tattoo artist. So I do tattoos right out of the house. In fact I have done pretty much all of her dads tattoos with her and her brother sitting there watching her daddy winch in pain. And the other day she informed me that on her one leg she wants a dragon and the other a castle of some sort, and I just said “cool beans” that’s what I say all the time. It’s just like that.

But you have never met a more uncoordinated silly girl in your life. I swear, I have never met a little girl lose the shoe that is on her foot. Yeah that happened one morning will getting ready for school, That was a funny morning. She used to walk down our driveway all by herself (and we have a long driveway) I’d watch her from the window, if I didn’t see her get on the bus my whole day would be full of worry, think that instead of her getting on the bus maybe someone stopped and took. Her I have made that phone call to the school, the probably think I was nuts. This year though she has her best friend down there with her, her step brother (my oldest bio. Son) to get on the bus with her. So she looks less lonely.

I showed her one day how to put her hair in a pony tail and she took it from there. And trust me her hair gets pretty wild at times. But she’s comfortable. And that’s all I care about.

But anyways she is her own person she dresses herself. I don’t care what she wears just as long as it’s clean and no skirts, we have had problems in the past with her wearing skirts (not very lady like) needless to say.
So most days she doesn’t match and I think that it’s awesome that she doesn’t care. She’s comfortable and that’s all that matters, some days she dresses like a girl you know pink shirt, pink pants (yes she has them) and on other days she wears boy shirts with baggy jeans.

And her socks never match! We have a basket full of socks all different kinds of colors and all different kinds of verity. And she just reaches in there and grabs two socks and doesn’t care what they look like, and if her socks do match, it’s an odd day. She’s kid of grumpy on those days like she didn’t get enough sleep or something you know. Don’t ask me how I know this, I just kind of figured it out.

But the reason I brought this up and started writing this, is because her real mother is, I don’t want to say horrible, but it’s along those lines. She gets them every other weekend and this women thinks that her “kids” need to be in brand name cloths. New everything, you know the kind of people I’m kind of talking about. Well we don’t really have that kind of money. So they get a lot of garage sale cloths hand me downs. But in my opinion those are the best kind of cloths, hey their already broke in.

But her dad and her real mom got into a fight cause her socks don’t match and it pissed me off. This women has not had her “kids” for more then 48 hours every months she has no right to be telling use how to raise her she lost that right when she walked out the door. She’s just a “babysitter” as I like to call her… but you know what these are my kids, I’m there when they get put on the bus in the morning, I’m there when they are put to bed at night and I the first person she shows when she pulls out a tooth, I am her “mama” as she calls me. And I will always be there for her with matching socks or not.
